Peer Review Process

All manuscripts must be submitted via the RMG web-based submission site. Please refer to the Guide for Authors before submission. The submitting author is designated as the corresponding author and is responsible for all communications with RMG.

At submission, authors select the relevant section of the journal. Authors may suggest a specific Associate Editor and reviewers, but final assignments are made based on editorial expertise, workload, and scheduling.

Double-Blind Review: All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent external reviewers. If a consensus is not reached, a third opinion may be sought. Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential.

Final Decision: The final decision on each manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief in collaboration with the Editorial Board, based on the reviewers' reports.

Manuscripts may be returned without external review if the Associate Editor determines that the paper is of insufficient general interest or unlikely to receive favorable reviews. This editorial rejection allows authors to submit elsewhere without delay.

There are no submission or processing charges at RMG.

Special Issue and Special Section Policy

RMG may publish special issues or special sections within its scope, in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran and international standards of scholarly publishing.

• General Principles: The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the entire content, including special issues and special sections, which must fall within the journal's scope. All articles undergo the same external peer review as regular submissions and are clearly labelled.

• Special Sections: A thematic part of a regular issue, managed directly by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board. No guest editor is required. Articles are reviewed by at least two independent external reviewers.

• Special Issues: A complete issue dedicated to a specific theme. May be managed by the Editor-in-Chief or by appointed guest editors.

• Guest Editors (if appointed): Their credentials are approved by the Editor-in-Chief or the Editorial Board. They work under the supervision of the Editor-in-Chief. If they submit their own work, it is handled through an independent review process, and their contributions do not exceed 25% of the total content of the special issue.

• Prohibition of Full Special Issues: No single volume or year shall consist entirely of special issues.
